Steinberg Midex 8

Ok, I sold off the Midisport of which I was having problems with and got myself one of these bad mamajamas.

Its so bad that I cant get it to work.  :P 8O

Any Midex 8 users in the house?

I've hooked it up via USB, installed the drivers okay, LED's on the unit are lit and everything fine on the outset.

Run Cubase SX3 and cant find any references to the Midex in order to setup my channels. I can see the other devices such as my soundcard, Ti Midi etc...

Is there something I am overlooking?

Thanks for your help

Was messing around on something unrelated, took my Ti out of its USB port switched on PC, started up Cubase and all Midex functionality happening. Put Ti USB back in, Midex not happening.

Ti now gone back to Midi in its utilisation, not really what I want but it all works so fuckit. I cant be bothered with any more glitches and hassles.

Happy New Year gang!

the TI does need one USB port to itself. use another port for your midex8 and you won't run into problems. if you already use another port, it is a shared port which does not provide additional bandwidth. in this case you need to either try all ports on your PC until you find a port which works or you need additional USB ports.

you problem has nothing to do with the TI or the midex8 - you could take any combination of devices which exceed the maximum bandwidth and you would run into the same problem.

best, marc

Thanks Marc cheers.
I guess the Midex sucks up more juice than the Midisport then.
