Virus A tabletop does not trigger.
Unsolved
I recently picked up a used tabletop Virus A with OS 1.54. I am having problem triggering it. I have check the midi signal with 3 other pieces of gear and I am quite sure the signal being sent into the midi in of the Virus is working, I am just getting no sound from the unit. The volume is turned all the way up, the demo does produce sound, and I have used the ?hold both LFO buttons and power up? feature to reset the unit. Still, I cannot get the unit to trigger from any device that transmits midi ( Oxygen 8, Novation SuperNova 2, or Emu Command Station). The simplest attempt to trigger the Virus is from my Oxygen 8?s midi out to the midi in of the Virus; however, I get no sound. Is there some special setting that I don?t know about? The documentation of the Access site does not include version 1.54. I also attempted to update the thing, but it seems that the midi in is just not working Am I missing something here? . |
Please!!

I have a VirusC and on that there is a little symbol on screen when it receives a signal. I can't tell you for sure if the A series works in the same way, but my guess is that it does.
Do you see any indicator symbol on the Virus screen? |

I will ponder what it could be, but in the meantime, you should go through the manual and make sure that all of your settings are correct (ie maybe Local Off or something) Good luck, hang in there |

As far as I can see there is no midi in indicator on th Virus A. I have read the manual for OS v2.8 (there is no manual for v1.54) and can't find anything that could be a local on/off except the "MIDI PANEL" which can be set to INT, INT+MIDI, or MIDI. None of these selections work so that I can trigger the unit.
I have a EMU Command Station and a Supernova2, bothe of these units are accepting midi data from my Oxygen8 contoller. The Virus, however, is a nada. I have alos tried sending midi from the EMU and the Supernova2 into the Virus, again nada. |
Have you sent an email to Access tech support??? They are quite good at getting back to you with answers.
It is hard for me as Im using a Virus C, on the latest OS |
