non TI desktop users a/b/c/classic, may I ask this question?
is anybody using a remote midi controller with rotary knobs/sliders, mapped to your virus, and how is the automation response compared to twaeking the actual knob on the virus.
Also has anybody assigned more than 1 controller??? (I have an oxegen 8 and a roland a30 controller, each has advantages as well as shortcommings. together they accomplish a lot) Anybody using DP 4.61 with a non t1 desktop? How is overall automation using dp? input latency? thanks |
how many times do you want to misspell TI again?

Put away the claws kitty cat... Correcting peoples spelling mistakes is just boring, and achieves nothing. |

The virus should respond instantly, what may be variable is the behaviour of the controller. Some controllers actively thin out CC data causing a slight delay (not a delay hat you really notice, more a feeling of the controller being slighly disconnected from the effect) and in really bad cases, audiable stepping sometimes.
IMHO the best controller keyboard for rapid response, and dense enough data for smooth sweeps is the older Novation Remote Series. They are also quite nice feeling keyboards, good aftertouch, really nice pitch/mod stick and a very useful X/Y pad (I wish the TI had an XY pad on it). Someone reported that the newer SL thins out the data - I suggest you own research on this claim as personally I would be a little suprised if Novation did this with the new Remote SL series. |
