no need for a guitar amp just plug it into your USB port and off you go!!!

I think sometimes people forget that alot of the characteristics of a "guitar sound" come from the amp, as well as the choice of mic you use, the room you record in, the mic pre you use and anything else in the chain (compressors, EQ's...)

Even though it looks like a cool bit of kit, I wouldnt be in a hurry to buy one, I'd much rather use my original 1981 USA Fender, into my 1987 Roland Jazz Chorus 77, mic'd up with a gorgeous Royer R121 ribbon, into my Studer 169 preamps and EQ, and then into the computer...

Try getting that sound with USB and some amp sim....

Bit like an inferior [Line6 Variax], then?

Gotta get me one of those Variax's one day.... Wish it had Midi-out too, then it'd be an absolute no-brainer.

Yeh I wish. I keep thinking about getting a roland midi pickup and converter for it - so annoying though that it allready has hex piezo pickups and digital processing inside, and yet they didnt bother to make the pickup available as a 13 pin connector for MIDI converters - Grrrr!.
