Virus TI feature wishlist. [NOT regarding bugs]

To inject a positive thread into the works, this isn't a thread about bug fixes, bug fixing, or anything to do with bugs. Furthermore any bugging bugbear bug buggers will be ignored, and they will receive a painful death by rear insertion of a pnuematic drill placed on 'turbo', and then swiftly drop-kicked into orbit, Jonny Wilkinson style?.

This is for suggesting new features/functionality only. With a bit of luck, Marc/Ben/others might rejoin if everyone joins in. Re-kindle the spirit, and all that.

Here are a few of mine:

* 1-pole version of Access' own filter!
* Customisable/designable and/or importable wavetables.
* A more flexible sub-oscillator (extra waveshapes, and pitch control)
* A extra EG.
* Step/Modulation Sequencer.
* Maybe even a third filter!
* Cross modulation between oscillators.
* Compressor effect.
* Allowing fine-tuning of Osc1...

(When two oscillators from the Virus are used, they are out of tune with other synthesisers because Osc2 of the Virus only detunes in a positive linear fashion while Osc1 remains the same. Thus, the overall pitch is skewed.)

An idea for any such TI v2 would be a Ribbon Controller. Or an XY pad! You can stab it with your finger for gated effects, or use your finger smoothly, there's tonnes of flexibility there and performances will be even more dynamic and expressive. Imagine modulating the tuning of the phaser effect with your finger.... or modulating the filter cutoff AND resonance at the same time with an XY-Pad... Or modulating the octave spread of an arpeggiator pattern with your finger... Or panning and reverb on the XY Pad for 3D depth, or tapping it with your finger for gated morphing effects... There's loads of possibilities!

Your own wishlists, please....

Built-in pattern based sequencer, like RM1-x or Sequentix P3 (but polyphonic)

I thought the moog filters could already be set to 1 pole.

... It can. And then imagine what a 1-pole version of the original Access filters could sound like. :D

Access' own filter has great characteristics, and is very distinctive. A 1-pole version of that same filter would probably sound even more dramatic than the Moog's!

Not sure! Must be all the other people asking for it, too. :D

I'm backing up DS here. And while we're at it, let's make it capable of exporting straight to MP3 format. :D
