Lexicon MX 400

Anyone ever used the Lexicon MX 400 or any Lexicon product?
I'm looking into getting this one:
http://www.lexiconpro.com/ProductInd...x?ProductID=11

Would love some feedback or reviews before I make this purchase.

Thanks

Lexicon make some great and some crap products... I've used a couple 480L's, and a PCM-80 & 90, and also own a MPX-110. The PCM series Lexicons were/are great. Still a bit pricey though. The 480L's are just lush, but I dont think I'll be picking one up in this lifetime.

The budget stuff is...pretty budget.

What do people think of the MPX-1 reverbs?
... vs say the PCM series and TC reverbs (fireworx, m-one xl for eg) ?

I'm thinking about adding a Lex reverb - currently use a fireworx which is nice, but the reverb use alot of DSP and it has the capability to plumb an external fx chain into its internal fx chain. 400 was of course a thought as well...

I would think the mx400 will be fairly budget cos its near the bottom of the range nex to the mx200. I'd like an mpx-1 or pcm-80 but have only got 2 inputs/2 outputs on my audio interface so cant use one

The MPX 550 looked nice. Why the hell did they discontinue them?

I don't know to be honest. Maybe to make way for the new software sequencer/vst intergration effects units like the mx200/mx400. Mate I wonder if they'll do a pcm 81 version with vst integration.

As far as I can gather, Lexicon have apparently been bought out by a bunch of morons, Harman group, who fired a load of the original Lexicon personnel.

It appears some ex-Lexicon reverb R&D ppl have started their own company here:

www.Bricasti.com

... while others joined Line6 (guitar modelling + processing).

All the gossip:

M7 seems nice - but dont really care if its hand crafted - dont really want to pay for that in a rack box - all sounds expecnsive.

I use TC hardware reverbs which are good for the loot (a Fireworx and an M-One XL).

Mate that bricasti thing looks wicked. And if harman sacked a lot of lexicon staff then they are f**king nobheads.
