Is it possible to sync VC with FL Studio?

For quite a while, I've been trying to sync my Ti desktop with FL Studio. I have Cubase 4, but I'm still learning it and would like to use my Ti in FL Studio as well. I have a brand new Dell Dimension 9200 with Intel Duo Core technology. It's a very stable system. In terms of a sound device, I have the M-Audio FireWire 410.

Here are my current settings with FL Studio, my soundcard, and the Ti:

I'm running M-Audio ASIO at a buffer level of 512 (10ms @ 4800KhZ)
The sync source on the soundcard is set to 'internal' coax (more on this soon), as I am running my sound OUT S/PDIF and into a reciever.

Samplerate: 4800KhZ (this samplerate makes virus off pitch by a hair)

Okay, I know that the root of this problem is the clock source, but I decided to give you a brief layout of what I'm running on for more clarity.

When I set my clock source to external--I don't get any sound whatsoever.

As a whole, any ideas? For once, I hope I'm doing something stupid.

sorry for the riff raff :)
