(((Basslines and LFOS...heeeeelp!! ))
Well I have been having a lot of trouble with this for a while now and I have to solve this.
here's the problem. I edited a patch from the Ti and came up with this bassline I like. Problem is I like the way it hit sometimes then there are times I dont like where it hits within the mix as its playing with other sounds. I'm sure most people here will say maybe its the way the track is shifting and how it sounds with others sounds....possibly. But even if shut off all the other sounds I can still hear it change a bit. Ideally I want my bassline steady and moving the same way. Other sounds of course I want it to move and modulate differently. But when I listen to it after the 2 bar it just sounds different. So when I reedited the patches I shut off all the LFOs and made sure there was no modulation. Not sure if thats necessary since its just a bassline. Dunno... In the matrix there is nothing mapped. I have a light filter on it for saturation and a bit of reverb. Here are the settings so you can follow OSC section I'm using two classic waveforms. OSC1 is saw>pulse 81% with a pulsewidth 61. Key fellow enabled to 32 normal. OSC2 is classic and shape is wave>saw 92% with triangle waveselect an key follow 32 normal. Detune is 27 OSC3 is slave to OSC2. FM amount 42. Phase Int Off (reason why ...when I enable it the sound doesnt sound the same and cycle right :( ) maybe I just answered my own question huh? LOL Unison: detune 87, spread 35, LFO phase +30 Mixer OSC 1/2 middle, OSC3 70, Sub OSC96, Ring Modulator 90 Filter section: Par 4 Light saturation Filter link enabled cutofflink enabled Filter 1 Low Pass=0 Env Amount 102 Velocity Response +40 Resonance 36 Filter 2 Low Pass= +12 EnvAmount 102 Velocity Response +40 Resonance 36 Key Follow normal +32 Filter envelope A=0 D=53 S=0 Slope=+33 R=37 Amp envelope A=15 D=127 S=55 Slope=-40 R=45 (Reason why its sounds much cooler than being dead middle. Semitones are in the middle by the way.) FX section Reverb = large room Send 48 Decay 56 predelay 54.6 Color -54 Ok that about does it. Hehe I rendered the files down so you can listen and maybe tell me why the waveform looks different after 2 bars. Well I hope this helps and I hope someone here can help me out. Here are the links. bass basschange Thanks guys. |
Did you resolve this issue yet? I am getting my virus tomorrow and want to know what to watch out for.
Sorry for the lack-of-help if not. Dan |

My solution I just rendered the whole thing and found the bassline sound I liked it and tweaked the HELL out of it...hehe :) Next time around I will create a bassline with just 1 OSC and go from there. Other than that....You'll be fine. There is nothing to watch out for. It ends up being the end user 99.9% of the time...LOL! Good luck with your Virus Ti. Have fun :) |
LOL
Thanks Man |

Failing that just re-sample your bass sound (export the base note and stick it unto a sampler) thats what i always do for bass off my virus |
