Using arp as a gate for the input signal

Is this possible on the Virus b? I already do this on my EA-1 by setting Osc1 to Audio Input and playing the step sequencer. The only problem is the input is mono only. It would be nice to do something similar on the Virus, where the audio input only plays when a note is triggered from the arpeggiator.
