Transfer a single patch from a B to a TI
I made a patch on a friend's Virus B and I want to get it on to my TI. Can someone advise me on how to do this? I assumed a MIDI Dump would work, but I was unable to get it working the way I thought it would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to dump from a KB to a Rack XL and it doesnt work. The KB has OS 4.0 and the XL has 5.5.
I send the MIDI dump from the KB to Pro Tools and then play into Rack XL. It acts as if it is getting it (it puts the SE or 5E symbol on the screen) but when the dump stops it doesn't work. If you are only transferring a few patches, I think you can do this: get the Virus Editor from reKon. Transfer the patch to the editor and save the preset. Then load that preset onto the other Virus and press store. You just can;t do a whole bank or whatever from KB->RackXL, unless I am doing something dumb here. |
I recently managed to do this.
First you have to dump the Virus B bank with SoundDiver, that's what i used. Only one bank of 128 patches at a time!!!! as .mid bank !!!! save that to the My Patches folder fro TI and then start up TI with VC and load that bank. That should do it. There is a good describtion in the VC tutorial. After doing so i tend to think that the sound of the B is not the same on the TI. To my opinion the TI sounds a bit less aggressive and somwhat muffled. but that is something for a other discussion. regards Richard |
