[Solved!]Knobs on my virus feel like they scrape when turned

Hiya folks,

On my virus some of the knobs feel like they scrape a little when I turn them. It's an 8 month old Classic which I haven't really used heavily and it shouldn't be dirty.

Is there a possibility this might be because it's new and the knobs take time to 'break in'? The cutoff1 knob is fine, maybe because it's the most used? Some other knobs are fine too.

I've looked at the knobs from an angle and none of them touch the casing, they all jut out a couple of milimeters.

Someone told me it's possible to pull the knobs off and clean them... I tried to pull them lightly but there was no sign of them coming off and I certainly don't want to force them. Is this possible?

Any help is apreciated, thanks

Just pull harder... They can stick a little if they have been sitting there all the time without ever being pulled off but don´t worry; you wont break anything. I do it on my Virus C everytime i clean it. Easier to remove dust when they are off...

Ok cheers mate, I managed to pull them off but they really aren't dirty, just a little dusty. I haven't been able to stop the from scraping.

On your virus, does every single knob turn fully and 100% smoothly?

Yes, very smooth... Must be the pots. You can try and rinse them with contact cleaner. Use some with a lubricant and make sure that it dries up completly before turning the power on again... Or did you say it was only 8 months old? You should take it to the store you bought it in an make them do it since there is still warenty on the unit...

Cheers dude, that's what I'll do. I'll take it to the shop I got it from.

Really appreciate the help, see you later ;-)
