Stylus RMX for drums.....

Any users in here? I quite like the idea of doing my beat creation in software and being able to apply effects more conveniently to each part. I've heard very good reviews about the RMX and would like to hear your opinions...

Is it good for film soundtrack, ambience and dance generes?

What alternatives are there for drums in software?

Cheers guys

yes, yes and yes. It is probably one of the most flexible and creative beat (and more) creation tools I have ever used. Just out of the box it offers an amazing array of sonic capabilities. Add to that Sage Expanders, the ability to import your own rex files, kit mode, amazing fx, chaos engine and the very granular edit groups . . .

I would highly recommend you check out their videos demonstrating the product. http://www.spectrasonics.net/instrum...mx_videos.html

these only scratch the surface, but will give you a good feel for where you really can go with this beast.

I think the best feature of RMX is the ability to randomize your beats.

agreed, the chaos engine is a very slick (and powerful) feature.

In Cubase 4 go to VST instruments config.

You should find the folder that is designated as the VST folder and check for a Spectrasonics folder within the VST folder, if the RMX dll is in there then it should be picked up. Perhaps just a rescan of the VST folder might find it (done within the VST instruments config screen)
