MIDI Controller for Drums

Hello,

I use Battery for most of my drum parts, which I either play on my MIDI keyboard or I input one note at a time into the arrangement.

I have wanted a finger trigger MIDI controller for a while and I think I will treat myself for Christmas. I just can't make my mind up between the following: -

Akai MPD24

Korg Padkontrol

The Akai has been my number one choice all along but I saw a demo video of the Korg and I really liked the X/Y controller.

Have any of you fine people had any hands-on experience of these controllers and could give me a bit of advice?

Thank you in advance,

Dave.

Korg seems to be the favorite around the forums

Thank you.

That's one Korg Padkontrol for Christmas.

Thanks,

Dave.

good choice Dave. I am having a blast making my drum beats using the PadKontrol. There is just so much more feel and variety that the pads afford you vs the conventional midi draw/keyboard method.

Hi,

I know what you mean, even though I have been doing it the old fashioned way for years it never seemed the right.

I can't wait to get it now. I'm sure my nephews will enjoy using it as well!!!

Thanks for the advice,

Dave.
