Bought a new camera

Just found out I am going to Venezuela for a shoot in January, so I decided to get a semi-decent camera.

Seems pretty cool so far. It looks like a D-SLR, but it doesn't have an interchangeable lens. I'll post some arty shots later

Jase,

Nice find! 9 Mega Pixel will give you great resolution. How about the zoom?

The lens that came with it, does it do any telephoto stype stuff?

Looking forward to the test pics.

Cheers mate,

-Alex

I have the Canon EOS 350D.
Any reason Why you didn't go for the Canon EOS 400D??

AlexHall74 13.12.2007 05:27 AM

Why do manufacturers fuck with us all and develop such stratified models of products?

Why can't they make nothing but the best and make it cheaper for everyone> Economies of scale, eh? Jesus.

Either way, I've owned 3 different models of Fuji digital cameras and all have been damn easy to use with relatively good software support from the manufacturer. Kodak too actually, except their device driver sometimes erases the MS Windows driver, which kind of pisses me off...

Demo pics, Jase! Please!

Looks sweet. You must have massive hands, Jase.

Took her out for a spin yesterday at a Christmas party... I've uploaded the pics to Flickr, pretty boring stuff but there are some nice photos in there, and some nice girls too. Check it out:

GND: I was looking at a DSLR actually, but the cheapest I could get one for was around AUD$900 and that was an entry level Pentax. I was very close to buying it, but they didn't have the lens that I wanted. I then started freaking out about spending so much money and found the Fujifilm camera. It was much cheaper, and more compact. I also already had 2 x 4 GIG CF cards, so I didn't need to spend money on cards, AND I like the fact that it runs on AA batteries too. I think the Nikon and Cannon had their own rechargeable batteries.

Looks brill, Jase! Great clarity, colours and depth of field.

With 9MP you wont have to worry about cropping pictures and losing definition! I'm guessing you wont lose much in the way of filters as you can pretty much do most stuff in photoshop these days? Or do things like polarisers have to be used at the source (on the lens)? I'm a gimp when it comes to this stuff.

Hey I have the exact same camera, and they are pretty good for sure - like a poor persons' DSLR, with a macro lens. And due to the price you don't give a shit about it either.
