Hiya
Im new here...
Ive just got a Virus Ti keyboard today and having fun twiddling with it. I used to have a virus B and write trance years ago as a hobby but I sold up all my gear (and discovered selling up was a big mistake) Lately Ive been getting the "urge" and so decided to get back into it and the first thing to buy was the virus :) hopefully by this time next year Ill be properly kitted out again and making lots of funny noises. Anyway , if you wish to know more of what im about then go here... www.mp3.com.au/acidhead cheers Marc |
Welcome to the forum! And welcome back to music!
Wow, selling all your gear. Must've been a hard decision. |
Making music is seriously like an addiction. You can walk away, but the cravings will always be there ;)

Welcome, Marc!
Selling all your gear is rough, but think of it as a spring cleaning. You can get much better quality components for less money in many cases. Unless that is you sold a bunch of really hard to find shit like Vintage Neve preamps, a Jupiter 8, etc. But seriously, it amazes me at what is available in the pro-sumer price bracket as compared to 3 years ago. I own a KC and that's it for synth hardware. But I have a ton of guitars, amps, mics, and a slew of soft synths by now. My only interface is a Mackie Onyx Satellite, and a Maya 44 PCI soundcard I use for digital DJ work. So the hell with it, buy all new shit! Yeah!!! :) -Alex |
That's a serious decision to buy a Virus as your comeback gear. How did you break the news to your family?

ha ha , I sold my nice hifi and got a pair of Fostex PM2 monitors , a virus ti , a tiny edirol M-16DX mixer/soundcard and ordered a quiklok desk.
should tidy me along a bit until more funds magic themselves.. Im still trying to work out how to have my edirol usb mixer/card living in harmony with the virus usb, its a bit of a pain to be honest, I might scrap the virus USB control and go SPDIF/midi instead. Is the virus control really worth using ? as for my old bits, i got rid of... Tascam TM-D4000 with 3 analogue cards and meterbridge Roland TB303, Juno2, JD800 Virus B Supernova2 Oberheim OB12 Yamaha V50,Sy85,CS2x,A3000 Nord micro modular Waldorf XT and a few other bits I cant think of off the top of my head like monitors and old korg synths etc. quite gutted but Im sure Ill get something that resembles that lot back over the next few years (I cant hack softsynths and I have tried, its not the soft synths themselves , its the setting up of all the midi control data that gets on my nervs) |
