Wierd Virus B Menu Problem

Hi there, the problem is, i recently installed some new patches on my virus b, which seemed fine.

But now when i turn it on, and try to flick through the patches it keeps popping up with the LFO 2 Shape screen. So i press the single button again and it might scroll through a few, then LFO 1 screens come up.

Oh its ok now... odd , ive checked none of the buttons are sticking. And no midi is connected.

So is there anyway to do a soft reset or OS reset/reinstall without wiping my patches ?

Thanks for listening

Kayd

Just make a backup of your patches before a reset / OS reinstall...

Oh right, thought it would resort to that. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Toe, it's certainly an odd problem.

Are the (underside) contacts for the buttons clean, and non sticking? And no Midi data is being fed to/from the Virus?

It's been a while since I've done it, but I think an OS re-install may wipe the OS but possibly keep the patch data? If so, am not sure if patches can corrupt a system, but to rule it out you could try making a solid backup of all your patches before initializing them and see if that does anything.

I know that a corrupt patch upload ground my Korg Trinity to a complete halt one time.

Did you manage to fix your problem, Kayd?

Hi Timo,

I'll give your suggestion a try.

Will update you tomorrow!

Thanks!
