Access Atomizer (realtime audio slicer/dicer) software, free for Virus TI.
Another NAMM exclusive from Access for TI.
Access Atomizer. http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...-Software.html "Access Music shows a technology preview of Atomizer on the winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. "Atomizer allows you slice and dice audio in realtime using a MIDI keyboard. Stutter effects were made famous by artists including Aphex Twin, Trentemoeller, Squarepusher, BT and many others. "In order to create those effects they either had to chop audio regions by hand or use semi-automatic plug-ins (which don't necessarily give you a great deal of control since they are intended to create random results). Atomizer works in a totally different way — once sync'ed to tempo you can play those slices in realtime, so you can virtually chop up your singer's voice while he's performing or add unique effects to your DJ set. "You can record the slicing process into your sequencer and edit it later along with the rest of your song. You can remix in realtime as well, with the modulation wheel becoming an intelligent cross-fader, while the pitch-wheel lets you change the pitch by approximately 4 octaves. And there are tons of effects including sample rate and bit rate reduction algorithms which, again, can be used in realtime and become a part of your performance." "Atomizer will be available free of change to all Virus TI users as a free software update. " Sounds interesting, I'm wondering how the heck something like that is all executed. Hoping there's another class Ben Crosland vid this NAMM. |
How is Atomizer even remotely related to the TI? I don't get it, and its nowhere near April 1.

Yeah . I was thinking the same..
So does this mean they are using Ti memory as a form of sampler ? maybe its time for user wavetables ? Also going off the snow demos , maybe we are getting some PCM drumkits as those drums sound rather good. |
hmmm.. is that supposed to me a midi gate?
Sure hope so.. |

heh, that looks like it will be serious fun. I use dblue glitch right now, but look forward to having a more hands on approach with atomizer.

Direct link for the video: [Atomizer ~16mb wmv]
Sounds not unlike the Radias' grainshifter effect, or the effects attained with using tracker sequencers (OctaMED, FastTracker, Renoise, etc.). Some fantastic potential in there. However, I get a small feeling it might be the next autotune/supersaw/hoover effect in Pop. |
Oh, and I suggest to change that topic. It is no "MIDI Stutterer" what ever that should have meant.
If you find that in google it locks pretty dumb and is so far away from it. r |
Atomizer doing some more crazy things.
DnB paradise. Hi Ronkaz, Quote:
How would you describe it? Cheers. |
Cant' exactly understand what they do from the video... but to my ears sounds like what you can do with the v-synth time trip: freezing the exact moment of the audio you're playing. Except in a few moments where I can hear more beats when he push a key.
