Hello from RASP
Greetings Virus users!
To introduce myself, I've been writing and performing electronic music since 1999. I've gone through a good deal ov analog gear in that time, most ov which I had to sell in the past year to pay bills (I know, unfortunate). I'm particularly fond ov Sequential Circuits synthesizers as well as its modern day equivalent: Dave Smith Instruments. I've owned an Access Virus KC since they debuted and it has become my primary instrument in a live setting. I play for the following bands in Seattle, WA: http://www.myspace.com/legionwithin ![]() http://www.myspace.com/raspmusic ![]() http://www.myspace.com/deathbedrepentance5 I'm particularly interested in playing analog synthesizers in a live setting, it seems to be a lost art I suppose. Music-wise, I listen to a lot ov old school industrial music, synthpop, dark jungle, electroclash, and post-punk. I'm 27 years old and I work as a Security Officer at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, WA. Oh yeah, and I wear a size 13" shoe and I have type-O positive blood, LOL. |
Hi there!
I too know the pain of having to sell your synths...I had to get rid of most of mine because I had to move and then there just wasn't the room anymore :(. There is a plus side though, now I can compose music without having to step through 300 piano presets and decide which one I like! |
Hey RASP!
I'm also a KC owner and have a size 13 shoe! <no joke!> My blood is O-Negative however, but since its the universal donor type, I guess you can hit me up for a pint if you need it. Just give me some notice though or else you might have a hangover after the transfusion... ;) Cheers! -Alex |

Why thank you. I know where to go now for that resource. . . . |
Well Cheerio, then. Look forward to checking out your tracks.
How's Seattle then? I haven't been there 2002. Was it Pike's Market I bought fresh spun honey at? There's a big ass market in the middle of town, after you walk past all the pig sculptres. What the hell is it called? A bunch of old Italian men sang to us to tempt us into buying this massive salmon they had for sale. It's a damn fun town really. :) |
That would be Pike Place Market. Seattle is kind ov losing its charm. Its like the city that never wanted to grow up. A lot ov the really talented musicians moved away to places like Portland because the cost ov living her is getting a little bit out ov hand. On top ov that, the neighborhood gentrification is pushing out a lot ov the local music venues and general artistic charm. Its kinda sad but thats the reality ov the situation.

The yuppies kill all good things (bastards), sad but true. Orlando, FL (East Side) was that way too in the early nineties. The real estate boom and increase in university attendance flooded that place and made it a "Starbucks town" overnight. Winter Park, FL is very expensive too now but it still has a native feel to it and is more artsy. Tallahassee is a small sleeper town at this point in time. We'll see what happens in the next decade or so after I drop some dope tracks...
