New Classic owner-sequencing question
I'm new here with an eagerly anticipated Classic on a UPS truck somewhere making its toward me for a Monday or Tuesday arrival. Never used a Virus before because I was too nervous about the menu-diving horror stories from ex-users. However, I've become more acquainted with synthesis over the past few years, particularly after having slogged my through such monsters as Radikal Technologies' Spectralis and the Quasimidi Polymorph. The Virus sound is, I believe what I was always after and I am psyched to see what I can do with the Red Baby when it gets here next week.
In the meantime, I would like to know what I can expect in terms of sequencing the Classic. I'd like to use the available 6 midi channels on my Monomachine for this task. I'm not a keyboard player by any means, and I generally sequence all my music. Will the 6 midi tracks from the Monomachine be enough to get a decent amount of polyphony from the Classic? I hope so because I refuse to use software sequencers; I'm an all-hardware person when it comes to synthesis and I like to record all my music live. I do have a Nord Lead 2X (keyboard version) which I can use in a pinch, but I'd like to avoid it. If anyone has any recommendations with respect to using hardware sequencers with the Classic, I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Thanks! Brian |
