Tone Problem, PLEASE HELP!

Ok,

I recorded a lead line with my virus a week ago. Worked just fine. Now my virus flipped out the other night for some unknown reason. And as of 2 days ago when I play the lead line back with the bass line, its tone is off and does not match my bass line anymore. I have done a master restore on the virus several times, it does not fix the problem. I have been through every menu on transposing and oscillator semitones, none of that fixes the problem. I have tried calling access in the past, both for virus control issues and now this problem, they dont like to call back.

Now I should add, I know its the virus thats having the problem because if I switch from the virus to a VST, it sounds just fine. Also my bass line is a VST sound so I know its not the bass line.

This is my last hope.

Please anything is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hiya Socal, welcome.

What do you mean by "its tone is off"? You mean it's transposed/pitched incorrectly, or the filter characteristics are different?

Does it affect all patches, or just one?

And what do you mean by "master restore"? Do you mean you've flashed the EPROM with the latest OS?

If the pitch is unduly off, my first port of call would be the global menus (I don't have a TI, only an Indigo Mk1, but all my global menus are contained under the CTRL button). There is a global Transpose function there. Or, if your filters are acting differently, maybe the Velocity curves have been unduly altered (which then go on to affect the velocity-to-filter settings in various patch modulation matrixes, and hence the filters. Or indeed any other velocity-modulators).

I should give an update....

The virus was working fine again last night after I did the firmware restore and this morning decided to trip out again.

So now I cant turn the virus off or do a master restore and the firmware restore did not do anything to help fix the problem.....

Everytime I try and shut it off it goes to wierd transpose settings and into lfo menus?!?!?!

Looks like it's time for the shop, unfortunately.
It's probably your best bet, or at least the Virus technical team.
They're very good (within 2 days)
GoodLuck

Unfortunately it does seem like a return is needed.

Access technical support is usually very good. They will be able to advise you further.

Hope you get it resolved, Socal.
