How to check the health of a used virus

I'm looking at buying a used virus C (I've been in the market for months).

I'm looking for some information about making sure it is in proper working order.

are you going to be able to get your hands on it to test it out? if so, certainly check all the buttons and knobs (especially filter and res) looking for wobbly or things that feel loose. I would also turn it off and back on and make sure it boots without any issue and lastly of course, make sure it makes sound :)

Damn straight, as the good Doc Jones said. Also, check all the keys if it is a KC. These can go bad if abused (or dropped).

And also try polyphonic patches. Play as many notes as possible and see if all the sounds suddenly die. That's one nasty bug that has been featuring in Virii since the B-series.

Make sure you install the current O.S. 6.5

Well, all that is done and it was great.

I now happily own a virus C (desktop).

Woohooo!

Thanks all.

Congratulations! Enjoy your Infektion!!!

:)

P.S. A quick tip: Use Windows Media Player to load your VC desktop with new OS or banks of sounds from the Access site. Access actually recommends WMP for this. Just be sure that in Control Panel->Sounds&Audio Devices your MIDI interface is selected for MIDI playback for your PC.

I'll try that out (once I'm done playing with all the sounds currently in there!)

This certainly puts out sound as phat as my a6. I'm quite happy with it.
