Virus KC Only Outputting Mono...
OK, my KC is pissing me off.
It is only outputting sounds in Mono (R) cahnnel only. I have it hooked into input 3 and input 4 of my Delta1010LT. I've used those inputs with my other synths just fine and they output in stereo. Somehow my KC got set to output only in Mono. How in God's name do I fix this before it drives me bat shit? :) Lookedin the manual and found info on second outputs and multi-mode outputs but nothing really speaks to this particular SNAFU. Cheers, -Alex |
not sure if this would be overkill, but possibly do a system reset?
|
I almost did that, Doc. I jumped the gun and contact Access support (awesome as always) and Joerg Koetter recommended that I cable my KC directly to my nearfields to see if sound came out of each speaker. It did, so I tested my Delta 1010LT and Input 4 is "kaput" and I requested an RMA number from M-Audio. I unplugged my Nord Lead 2 from the 1010LT and will wait to see what M-Audio can do regarding replacement of the card.
Problem almost solved; at least my Virus is OK! :) |
Alex, spoil yourself and get a firewire interface. You know you want to ...
|
Thanks alot for that, LivePsy. As if I need any more temptation than my innate case of G.A.S.
I have a teeny-tiny firewire interface (Mackie Onyx Satellite) whixh I'm quite fond of as it allows for connection of 2 synths, 2 mics, a 6-string, and an electric bass all at once (but only 2 tracks can be recorded at once). I'd really piss my pants in gladness if I had a MOTU Traveler, or a RME firewire audio interface, that would be HOT POTATOES! :) |
I am using the TI as audio card at the moment, but longing for a Traveller. I could do without a mixer at all with that.
|
hey LivePsy, how is using the TI as your soundcard working out? I remember trying this about 1.5 years ago (back in the dreaded 1.0x OS days) and couldn't get the latency down low enough. Just for reference I am using my echo layla24 at 4ms latency.
|
[edit] I originally posted 512 samples, but that was back with 2.5. I've been using 128 samples as soon as 2.7 beta came out.
Doc, I don't know the latency in time but I have used the TI audio at 128 samples on both PC and Mac. Not much delay between keypress and sound. I can go down to 64 but get occassional crackles. Its not bad at all using 2.7b4. Because I only use the inputs to record mangled samples or synths into Live, its quite enough for my needs. I really like minimizing everything down to a notebook and the TI desktop when travelling! B |
very cool, 128 samples is exactly what I use right now. good to see the ti can handle that without any problems. That's my goal as well, to slim down to a laptop, a ti and a small 37 key midi controller.
|
Hell yeah, Doc. That would be a killer mobile rig.
LivePsy, what do you think about the MOTU Ultra Lite vs. the MOTU Traveler? |
