Snow Time!
Going to buy a Snow tomorrow, I have Cubase SX3. Any words of advice before I buy?
This will be my first synth and my only source of sounds. |
Congratulations!
Same advice for any synth before you buy: (1) Check the knobs and make sure they aren't loose/chipped/cracked like on an abused demo model. (2) Check the jacks to make sure they aren't loose and that the signal is constant through a pair of monitors, don't just check it with headphones. (3) Check for chips in the paint, cracked plastic on any part of the casing (don't know if that's an issue with a Virus except for the side tabs) and/or dents in the metal casing. (4) Give the store that your buying it from as much grief about the price as you would if you were buying a new car. Ask for any discount under the sun, even if you don't qualify, and if they don't budge then calmly state that you are not sure and that it's time for you to go check out a Waldorf Blofeld that your friend just ordered from an online vendor; start walking away and see what happens. If you save any money then you can invest it in more gear! :) -Alex |
in addition to Alex's fine advise, I offer this . . .
don't plan on getting any sleep for the first couple of days ;) |
