after moving my studio (where my virus was working fine) when opening logic pro 7.2 with my ti desktop turned on it comes to a grinding halt saying that it has problems with the core midi something or other and says something needs to be updated, I have updated the firmware on my ti to no avail :S what do i need to update and where can it be updated ??

are you sure, that you used the same USB port again?

you may try to un-install and re-install the drivers ...
