Blofeld mutates... Waldorf Blofeld keyboard

Virtual analogue (Waldorf Q), wave-tables (all Microwave II/XT/XTk Wavetables), and sample-based oscillators (60mb of sample data).

And get this: £650

Looks like the Virus has some VERY serious competition. In fact, with the Virus now weighing in at (in my opinion) an unsustainable £1700, at least in the UK, I think this will bite a huge chunk out of the Virus demographic.

Wow, that is a huge price difference.

But, are you comparing Blofeld to Snow?

Surely Blofeld is not in the same game as a full fledged Ti.

And what of the keyboard action?

The Ti Snow does not have a keyboard version, does it?

It is nothing short of a great feat to find a keyboard that feels as good as a Virus 61 key synth, in my limited exposure to ridiculously expensive electronic toys.

This is a very interesting rivalry nonetheless...thanks for pointing it out!

I think the blofeld is not match for one TI but be careful with this coming German Panzer:

The Stromberg....it's just an imaginary dessert platter at this point. Should it ever be rendered in reality...PHWOAAAAAAAAAAAR

I recently got the desktop Blofeld. I will not burn one at the stake.... ever. They do not burn well.

Plus... I'd miss the oscillators too much.... oh... and that comb filtering.... oh yeah... and that mod matrix.

:)

Really happy for you new keyboard bud, but personally I dont like the Blofeld because is too much screen pages for changes, soo little number of knobs and too much software for my taste. the sound is good but is not even closer to any Virus. But off course if you have one studio with many synthesizers like I believe you have should be another nice unit.
Enjoy it dude, I bet you will ;)

I do enjoy it... the sound of course. The lack of knobs and abundence of pages is a biatch, but worth while for the sound.
