Snow vs TI Desktop

Hey guys...

i recently owned a desktop TI but had to return it back to store as it was the demo and their was a long waiting period for the desktop...i decided to get the snow and some other gear!

I did not see this as much as a problem as from the research i did i was under the impression they both have the same sound egine...and the fact that i could never really play the ti desktop with more then 4 or 5 parts with out it glitching was also another reason why i said why not

i slightly regret it as i miss the knobs....but anyways can some one please confirm if they sound the same? or infact are the same sound? i have heard the snow sounds better but hey i dont see how?

thanks

snow/polar comparison

I demoed a snow before my Polar arrived, it sounded pretty amazing, not sure whether it sounds better than the Polar though :)
Interestingly Sonic State give the snows D/A converters a bit of a rap in the following review;

The TIs and the Snow should sound identical. The TI just has "more" of it available at any one time, quantity wise.

Interesting how some people have perceived the Snow to have slightly better D/A converters... Wonder if there's any real truth in this, or if people have done double-blind tests, or if Access can confirm that other D/A implementations were used.

yes i have heard from several producers that the convertors on the snow are much better and that the snow actually sounds better...who knows
