Hello all

Just thought it polite to introduce myself, I'm Ceri JC.

I am the proud owner of a nice new TI Snow. Having wanted a Virus for years, I was very pleased to hear about the Snow as finally I could justify the cost and the "limitations" of the Snow over the Polar were for me minimal:
I'm awful at playing keyboard, so lack of keyboard is no problem.
I wanted something small/portable and I'm happy using Virus Control to make my patches, so the lack of knobs was worth the small footprint.
I can live with bouncing individual tracks of the snow to .wavs for post processing for studio work, so lack of multiple outs doesn't bother me too much.

I've made electronic music of varying kinds for the past decade or so, initally started out with software, but have gradually included more and more hardware. These days I mainly make a sort of minimal dub techno and fairly danceable instrumental stuff, as well as some Dubstep-type tracks and occassionally some ambient. I also DJ (vinyl) and usually when I play live do a weird hybrid of playing my own stuff blurred with bits of other people's tracks for a sort of mix of live remixes.

I currently live at two addresses so my studio is split in two. I have a very minimal setup at the one I spend most time at which comprises of a tiny netbook running Ableton Live 7 (used solely for sequencing the Snow), a Snow for synth sounds, an Electribe ESX-1 for drums and samples and RE-201 FX unit all going into a 3 channel mixer.

I joined the forum late November, but haven't posted till now due to a problem with my account which Timo has kindly sorted. On the plus side, my non-posting period has given me time to read the rules and common topics, so hopefully I shouldn't commit too many for forum faux pas. Likewise, I've had a chance to play with the Snow (and RTFM), get it working with Ableton and my ESX-1 and work out most of the basic functions, so hopefully I shouldn't be bothering people with too many of the painfully obvious questions. :)

Oh and my usual "introduction disclaimer"; despite my name, I'm a chap so whilst I appreciate people being friendly, I don't want anyone to misguidely aim their affections towards me. ;)

The Virus is good for making music and talking complete nonsense with other people infatuated and completely in love with it's character. It's a love affair that leaves us silly in the head....
