Routing on Ti Polar, KP3 and Live
Hey guys!
I have a question, which I can't seem to find an answer to. In my setup, I use my Ti as an Audio interface (Monitors connected to analog out 1/2). Furthermore I have a Kaoss Pad 3. So, is it possible to route the master (or any given track) in Ableton through analog out 2/3 and through the KP3 into the anolog in on the Ti, sorta like a send/return effect, if you get the idea...? Thanks in advance! Fuhr :) |
Hmm... Seems I'm just a n00b.. But I still don't get it? Is the Virus Ti capable of doing this at all? Or am I misunderstanding the function of outputs 3-6?
If I am, could someone point me in the right direction for setting things up? |
I'm still bugged with this issue. Could someone point me in the right direction for installing my setup (optionally, what to buy to make it work)? :)

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, pop the KP3 either before the input stage... or between your output and monitor stage.
Other than that, I don't understand the question lol. I've used a KP3 + Synth for live purposes before. The synth output went into the Kp3 and then to the monitors. So live modulation :D ________ genetically modified food |
The Virus TI is a STEREO ONLY audio interface. You cannot route any audio out of outputs 3-6. They are for Virus Synth assignment output assignment only. You need another audio interface for that to work, or else all you get is a nasty feedback loop from looping input to output.
Virus TI Audio Interface = 1/2 In and 1/2 Out Virus Synth= 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 |
Does that mean if I am using the TI as my sound card, I cannot route audio from Virus Control out analogue 1/2 and the audio from Stylus RMX (within Live) out analogue 3/4 ?
I would then run analogue 1/2 and 3/4 through an analogue mixer if the above is possible. |

To combine this with the OP's question, you could take the 1/2 and 3/4 outputs into a mixer, with the KP-3 on an aux bus. That way, you could choose either the RMX/Live output or the Virus output to run through the KP-3. Also to the OP: To do what you originally asked, you'll need a separate audio interface rather than the Virus, one with multiple stereo pair I/O. |
Alright, thanks guys :)
Seems like I'll have to invest in a new Audio Interface (since i don't really fancy having an analog mixer. Trying to keep it all in Live). Can you recommend any in a fairly reasonable pricerange? (Since I'm a student) |
Well.... You can route the Virus directly out of Analog 3 + 4 with no DAW processing, and then play stylus out of Analog 1 +2.
