Virus Ti2 + Prophet 8 ?

Hello...
I have a Virus ti and many Native Instrument plugs...

I love eighties sound and i make electronic music. I wonder wich Synth i could add to my setup that will be useful (even i allready have a virus) to have new or different textures...

I was wondering about the PROPHET 08 ? i was less impressed by the poly evolver but... just on video.
But maybe there is other cool synth in that price or less ?
At first a though about a little Waldorf Blofeld... but you know how it is.... you start to think about adding something small and then....little by little -_-
OR MAYBE you will tell me i dont need another synth wich i will respect too :D

if you love eighties check some old roland models ( second hand )

Yeah i love eighties sound, and erasure type of things, but i would like to stay away from CV/GATE :D lol
I would like a new analog or virtual analog who can compliment the Virus well.

ok
so my suggestion is go ahead for a moog ;)

chromatic 25.04.2009 09:18 AM

Actually in that price range, the Moog i could buy is a little phatty, iam not too much impressed by it and of course its Monophonic... wich is not a problem but the Prophet 8 is 8 voices...

BUT the blofeld seem also an interesting cheap piece of synth that could well complement the Virus...
But maybe in a different way compared to an ANALOG synth...
Or am i wrong ?

For peoples who have a Virus and a Prophet do you feel you could get almost same sound from your Virus compared to prophet ?

The only thing is that the knobs on a Prophet suck big time quality wise.

I read that even the new ones straight out of the box come with shit quality potmeters....if you compare it with a Moog its like comparing a Kia Picanto and a Mustang.

yeah i heard that saddly...
its really sad because it also can be used as a control surface for soft synth, it would have been great to have better quality pot...
maybe they should have done a 6 VOICES synth with better quality pots...

I understand what you mean.
I meant the prophet maybe have a different texture, and so i wondered for those who have it, if they think you can have on the virus the same kind of sound and then that the prophet would be overkill for someone who own a virus ti2 and then i should maybe take a Blofeld to complement the virus...

You could try a mopho. It looks like a block of cheese but is supposed to be a monophonic prophet basicly. For only 4 bills im thinking of picking one up. And the moog LP has great sounding oscilators and filters.
