Virus TI2 - Logic 8 - Multitimbrality?
Hi folks,
I just received a Virus TI2 Polar (3.0.12b) and I got one question: Is it possible to do a different plugin chain in Logic 8 for different parts of Virus when I use it multi-timbrally? I mean, for example, if I have a lead in part 1 and put delay designer as an insert after it in Logic, can i choose somehow to not put delay designer to part 2? When I put an insert effect to one part of Virus I get the same inserts to all parts of Virus... how do I counter this? Also I am experiencing very loud bursts of noise at seemingly random times...wrecking my hearing and feeling a bit afraid to use headphones when using the Virus..even though I put limiter to help against the noise bursts..hope this kind of bugs will be solved soon..or someone know why this is happening? thanks in advance for help! |

Ok, thanks for reply.
Yes, Polar TI2 has the same limitation - 3 stereo outputs. So, can I do it with the USB connection, or do I have to route the physical outputs? I failed to understand out how to direct the 3 outputs via USB to different aux channels.. is it possible? If it is, how? thanks |
In the patch of your choice you can choose usb 1, 2or 3 as an output, you just have to create that many audio tracks of your TI and have the source of your audio track as access TI and the input as usb2 or usb3. I use this in live so I dont have to sidechain every track.

On each track in the Virus Control window, you will see to the right of the currently selected patch name the "audio destination" drop down (my name for it - not sure what the official terminology is). By default it will say "USB1 L+R". From it you can select other options such as "USB1 L" (for the left channel only of USB channel 1), "USB1 R" (right only, USB channel 1), "USB2 L+R", and so on. By default you will only have 2 USB channels to choose from - you can enable a third channel by changing the Virus control into Utility mode (on the top right of the toolbar, there is a button marked Patch/Utility). In Utility mode there is a page called "Input/Output Configuration" with a drop down box called "USB audio mode". By default it would be set to "2 Outs / No Input" - change it to read "3 Outs / No Input". (As a side note - does anyone know the impact of using 3 outs? I presume it does something if it can be changed - especially as both options have "No Input".) You should now have access to an additional channel from the drop down in the VC mixer (named "USB3 L+R" and it's mono equivs). Additionally you can route to physical outputs as well - on my Snow I only have "OUT1 L+R" but the Snow has only one pair of physical outputs - you may have more on the full TI. So if you've done that you need to open your mixer and view your the TI channel. To the bottom of the channel (below the Mute and Solo buttons) there should be a "+" icon - assuming you used the "Multi-output (3xStereo)" option when you added the Virus plugin to the channel. If you click the "+" icon twice you should create two new Auxes, which will receive the USB2 and USB3 outputs. Hope that helps. Maurice |

selecting "2 Outputs/No Input" -> soundcard has IN and OUT selecting "3 Outputs/No Input" -> soundcard has OUT only selecting "3 Outputs/1 Input" -> soundcard has no IN and no OUT this is a global setting, not per song. r |

3.0 does not add an input option, it is still 3 out 0 in.
