Greetings! Switching teams.
Hi Guys!
I'm Larchi from Australia. I was in a relationship with a Blofeld, but we are divorced now. I plan to get a Ti Snow very soon. I want to use it as a synth and an effects processor :) I've heard guitar through it and it sounds cool. Just wondering if anyone has tried bass guitar? A few quick questions if that's cool: - With the Snows' limited 4-part multi-timbral, is it possible to use multiple drum sounds on one midi channel (drumkit), with the other 3 doing something else?(synth sounds). - I saw a post talking/winging about the bass sound of the ti series and how punchy it is, or is'nt - just wondering what people think? - This could be a super dumb question but here I go: Is the atomizer a plugin, that needs a computer to run it, or is it part of the effects section in the Snow ( portable )? I plan to run my bass through my Boss Gt6b into the Snow, Then run bass and synth into my Trace Elliot. Then I can change between bass and synth on the go. Anyway, they are plans... I am a massive fan of King Crimson and all that heavy crazy prog. But also electronic stuff like Squarepusher and Aphex and that sort of thing. I've played bass for about 14 years and have been teaching it for about 11. I Played keys on an off along the way too but fell in love with that fat synth bass after many dance concerts! As I mentioned before My Blofeld basically let me down too many times. So I am switching teams. Anyway, this looks like a cool site and I hope to stay. Cheers, Larchi. |
Hey, Larchi! (^_^)
You got rid of the Blofeld? Crazy thing, that, as i love mine, and find it complementary to my lurvely TI2 Policious! (^_^) Doh, Drum patches in the Virus i believe are quite limited, and rely on very clever use of ARP patterns to get rhythmic vibes going. Some are very complex, too! Hmm, must take a look at this in more detail, as i've never considered using the Virus for this sort of thing! Booomm, Bass, all grumbly and house shaky! (^_^) Have no fear, new Snow dude, you'll have all the fundamental bottom end you'll need! Ahh, Atomizer, to split your musical elements asunder! It's Virus OS driven, so you can crush your mighty rock riffs without a computer.... only you're getting a Snow, so given you've got your trusty midi master keyboard handy, you'll be all set so get Krazy on them Crimson styles! (^_^) Cool! (^_^) |
Hey Celestry,
The Blofeld was a sad situation for me. I loved the sound so much but the crashes, bugs(lots) and 2 of my knobs dying convinced me the unit is a lot cheaper that it appears...I couldn't trust it. With the drum thing I mean is there a drum map like in a sampler, with notes responding on 1 channel with single programs mapped across the keys? It doesn't really matter though I use Reason for drums anyway. I just thought with 50 notes polyphony to play with, it shouldn't be too difficult for Access to stick it in. One channel of drums with 3 synth parts would be a good use of only 4 part multi. Thanks for answering mate! Larch. |
