Largo GUI
Things I miss in Virus Control:
- Off course Octave selector - LFO display, does anybody like blinking LED on front panel? - ON/OFF switchers. Do filters and oscillators suck CPU even if aren't used (balanced to either one)? I guess they do! - Not very wanted, but nice to have Onscreen Keyboard and Equalizer View. ![]() |

In terms of sound, I was surprisingly not very impressed, certainly can't compete with the Virus TI in my personal opinion. I have my 30 day demo from today though, so I plan to continue playing with it over the coming weeks to make my final decision. You make some good observations though mate, and I agree, esp with the EQ curve, that would be incredibly useful. |
I have to agree, im not that impressed. It seems the interface, like Terratec Komplexer, is a bit behind the times. aside from a CPU hog, The most annoying thing is the fact it uses single column pop-up menu for wavetables, and patches. But the sound is dead on Waldorf.. very impressive.. love the fast envelopes!

I agree with your points, however find it amusing that you point out "on screen keyboard" but not "Multi layer editing". I would prefer the later a lot.
Graphic display of the LFO, EQ etc has been on my wish list since day 1. But not if it slows down development of musical features. I don't think we need on/off switches the TI handles its resources dynamically, although having unused features greyed out for quick reference would be cool. I've seen that in other synths. |
bass sound is very good on largo, one of the best softsynths round
lots of good potential! |
