Virus TI Snow MIDI in Standalone Mode

Hi, I'm new to Virus TI, so here's a question:
When I connect midi keyboard [midi out] to my snow in standalone mode [midi in] - there's no sound from the Virus.
I tried 2 different keyboards and midi cables, checked midi filters and channel settings (seems to be correct - 1st channel is set everywhere including the TI), still nothing happens...
I could get it sound via audition, so this is not an audio issue for sure.
Firmware version - 2.7.3, I haven't updated it and haven't used the VC yet.

Have you tried holding EDIT/SHIFT and Panic button to turn off all midi notes? This has happened to me sometimes or I'll power down and restart the snow by holding down EDIT/SHIFT and PART buttons simultaneously or disconnect the power chord to reset. I hope this helps. Also, I highly recommend updating to the latest drivers because it works really well, for me, in Live 7 and Protools 7.4LE and as standalone synth w/controller keyboard.

Updated the OS to 3.0.3 -- still no results (((((
Also reseting virus and midi panic didn't help.

Can I somehow check whether or not the midi ports work??

Any ideas? I start to become desperate, don't want to return it.........

in EDIT Congif, scroll through until you see MIDI 1/3 at the top of the screen. Is the MIDI Device ID set to Omni or to a specific channel? I have mys Snow set up to omni and Global Channel is set to one. On 2nd page of the midi in EDIT CONFIG, midi clock is sync to external and Midi Volume enabled. Also, make sure that your controller's midi in/out is set to MIDI and not USB. I had the same problem and I then set my keyboard's MIDI transmit from USB to MIDI and voila the virus came to life again.

No, nothing works :(
MIDI i/o seems to be dead...

So what am I supposed to do? Anyone?

you might want to wait until the next OS will be out. there is a snow specific fix for midi communication. i cannot tell, if it will help in your case but it might be worth a try. we're finalising the version right now and in case, no new issue shows up, there should be a new public beta within days.

best, marc

So it'd be better to wait a little? There's a 14-days period when I can change or return it.
And is there any other way to check whether midi i/o works at all? Maybe that's a faulty hardware in my case, and not the OS?

You are not alone... I have the same problem. No midi being transmitted to my 'in' port. I can only use it within a VST host. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Updating OS to 3.0.4 did not give any results either.
Tomorrow will go return it...

In the store they told me there's incompatibility of TI Snow with some midi keyboard manufacturers. In particular, with Korg and M-Audio, which I tested it with.
I.e. they tested my module with some of their keyboards and it worked just fine. :o
Is it true? I mean the midi protocol is universal, how could a device not respond to simple midi messages of certain keyboards?
