Audio driver failed ?
I have a strange problem with my Virus TO desktop...:
When i open a Cubase project i was working on,the Virus Control isn't working (and no sound from TI)...when i open it i get the following message : "Audio driver failed The audiodriver failed to start or is not installed. This can happen if you have connected too many usb devices. Also try to install the Virus TI software again." I didn't change anything in my usb set-up...and the driver is working fine, but i tried installing it again anyway,no change... The crazy thing is that if i open another project, the TI (and Virus Control) works fine...so it seems there's just one project giving me this problem ? I tried everything : taking Virus TI out of the VST instruments list, saving under another name, making a back-up project, the whole shabang... I'm on Windows XP home,Cubase 5.0.1. and Virus TI version 3.0.3.00,Audio driver version 2.8.14.0 Any tips ? |
Restart Virus TI using the ARP button hard reset.
Replace the USB cable and see if that helps. |
As i said : it works fine in all Cubase projects except one...even when i switch from 1 to another...
Even older projects (made with Cubase 4.1 and older TI software) open Virus Control without problems... The usb-cable is the one that came with the TI... |
Have you perchance got an ipod cable plugged in? Or any spare USB cables like cameras etc? Make sure anything unneccesary is unplugged.
|
There have been no changes in my usb set-up whatsoever...and i hate iPods..
But i don't think you understand the problem...there's nothing wrong with the TI,there's only one Cubase project that doesn't work... What would help is a tip how to 'force' the TI to work in that particular project...(so i can finish it)... So,is there a trick/command in Cubase or TI to make the Virus Control work again ? |
The reason I asked is I have had that issue of one save file not working properly, and others working occur before - I did both (hard reset with the ARP EDIT button and remove usb cables), reboot pc) and it fixed the issue.
Don't have any tips for forcing the virus to initialise I am afraid. |
Okay, thanx for the info...did you have that problem with the latest software ?
|
And just to rule out everything : can you explain to me how that hard reset works ? Wanna try it anyway, you never know...
|
Okay,i did a hard reset...also uninstalled everything (software suite and driver) and reinstalled with only the TI hooked up to USB...no change whatsoever...
Still several projects open without problems, while 1 or 2 cannot open Virus Control and give me the "Audio driver failed" message... I'm going crazy... |
Anyone ? :(
