Audio Driver Failed!
I'm having some problems with one of my current projects.
In which it won't load my Virus anymore. I get this error, 'the audio driver failed to start or is not installed etc....'. But if I start other projects I have no problems at all. But what can I try to get it working again in this project? I've tried removing the Virus from this project, saving it under a different name and then reopening it, to then add the Virus into my project. That worked fine. But when I saved it again, including the Virus and reopened the newly renamed project, then again it wouldn't load. |
Pretty same problem here...
new project > virusTI seems to be ok > quit cubase > pc reboot > open cubase > virus not working in this project I'm gonna crazy.... Stefano. |
I got a new computer (imac quad core) and am getting that error too. are you running a mac with snow leopard...

I'm working on intel q6600 and winXp...
It seems to be a usb driver issue... |
Strange, I had this same problem just this past weekend when fooling with some new projects. I encountered the problems while trying to use the Virus as an insert FX but none the less it would load hit and miss with the Audio Driver Failed issue and I would be asked to try and restart the Virus or reinstall the software.

same thing... after a driver reinstallation it seems to work, then after a pc reboot it doesn't work again.
I'm writing with access support, because this situation is gonna really weird! i've some "old" projects (filled with any kind of vst instruments and processing) that work flawlessy.... but new projects don't! The really really weird thing is this: - open cubase and the new project created the day before, it doesn't work or - open cubase, the "old" project, then close it and open the new one... it works! no differences between projects setup (bitrate, sampling frequency, panning law, ect.)... moreover i get the same problems with new projects when virus control ONLY has been loaded (no vst instruments or fx). Should i go for an exorcism?! :D Stefano. |
Might sound crazy - buy a new USB cable and see if it helps.

I've tried a different usb port too (normally virusTI is cabled with a pci/usb card, so i tried the motherboard integrated usb), no results of course :D Maybe i'm wrong, but i'm still trying to understand if there are differences between the old project and the new ones! Cannot find any! omg.... :D Stefano. |

I encountered the same problem yesterday. I had been working without problems on a Cubase Studio 4 project with a single virus VST channel. When I deleted some other tracks and saved the project to another folder, and opened that project next time around, it was then that Virus Control failed to load up. In older projects, however, VC worked fine.
Neither arp edit reboot nor reinstalling the driver seemed to make any difference by themselves. What worked was then to remove the Virus track from my newly saved project, and then add a new Virus track. Puzzling... |
