[UNSOLVED] Sounddiver no longer detects my Virus C

Hello,

I have had my Virus C for about 5 years now and have used it with Sounddiver without any problems I couldn't fix on my own.

My current setup is a Dell XPS system connected to an M-Audio Midisport 2X2 connected to my Virus C. Also connected to my computer is a Radium61 keyboard, and connected via firewire to the PC is an Mbox 2 Pro.

Usual setup procedure involved turning on PC, then turning on Virus C, then opening Sounddiver, then opening Pro Tools. Had lots of fun with this until yesterday- opened Sounddiver and it can't detect my Virus C.

I tried some of the solutions I found in this forum- making sure the Device ID was 1 and and making sure hi and lo midi control was set to sysex. Still nothing. I tried patching my keyboard directly through the Midisport 2X2 and from there to the Virus C and got a response- so I don't think the problem is a cable or any of that hardware. What I think the problem is is my OS- its Vista (fcking@$%#$%), now I haven't had a problem with it since I got the PC 2 years ago, but it's always downloading updates and upgrading itself, and I'm worried it may have upgraded something in my workflow right out of commission. I can't think of any other reason this would all just stop working.

I imagine if it does have to do with my OS then someone else must be having this problem. My life is miserable right now and I really want to get back to playing with my Virus, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
