MIDI Panel Int+Midi question

I want to be able to freely MIDI learn parameters in my sequencer without worrying about trashing whatever patch I've put together on my Virus KC. So, I tried setting MIDI Panel->Midi, and it almost works... but the buttons don't send midi apparently, and so I can't bounce it back into the Virus via the sequencer. This means I can't fully control the Virus (picking various oscillators to edit, etc) until I set the mode back to MIDI Panel->Int+Midi.

Any ways around this? Do I just have to deal with it and manually change modes all the time? If so is there a way to automate it from a sequencer, such as SysEx etc?

I've searched everywhere and haven't found any information on this... too many damned anti-virus spam sites on the intarwebz! :P

Actually, I should mention that there IS a CC for it - listed in the back of the KC manual, it's code is C121 (Panel Destination) but I'm a bit baffled how to send these "third page" CC codes in Cubase. It's my first external synthesizer so I've never had to grapple with issues like this before, be nice!

OMFG. I forgot to uncheck filtering of SysEx messages in Cubase. Wow. Problem solved. Hope this saves someone the 10 hours it took me to figure this out. For some dumb reason I just kept assuming that the Virus didn't send SysEx messages, shows how much I know about hardware.

[Go to File->Preferences->MIDI->MIDI Filter and uncheck both SysEx options.]

if youre using cubase 5 then set up the quick controls
and yuo should be able to tweak everything on the virus
