programming drums virus A problemsss
so i've set the oscillators to phase 1 so they dont keep changing when trigged, for the modes i've choose hold so doesnt matter how much the gate from the sequencer is, but i've a strange sound from the bassdrum like somethimes it plays to loud especially when I plays other parts together.
Any idea of what i'm doing wrong? p.s no velocity modulation cause that problem thanks : ) |
Sometimes if you have other parts playing together that hit together with the bassdrum, they may be summing, and give you a louder sound.
Otherwise, always check MIDI volume on your sequencer. |
I found drums working fine only in poly mode and writing accurate midi with long gates and no doubles or overlaps, that's not great but works, if anyone knows a good way to program drums without the need of writing adhoc gates please share it!

so no hints about drums programming?

I rarely use drum sounds from the Virus in a midi track with the all the other sounds playing together.
I prefer recording the sounds from the Virus first, and using them in a sampler, where I can compress, , layer, manipulate, reverse and process the sound, while making it also much easier to keep the rhythm section tight. Just put some time aside, and spend an hour recording tons of hits and variations from the V. , edit it all, and fire it up on your drum-machine or sampler of choice. |
yeah tht a good idea : )
thanks for the hint : ) |
