Can't automate filter 2 cutoff?
 

So this is weird and annoying.

I am trying to automate both filters of a certain instrument, but only the first responds to the messages. I have triple checked to make sure that I am selecting the correct part in the automation menu. Anyone else had this problem?

Also, when I automate "filter2 resonance" the activity occurs on filter 1...what the heck?

RTFM!

Right-click on the filter 2 cutoff control and select the option to add the control to the automation set.

Worked for me :)
