Apple - WTF?
 

Jeez look how much of their revenue comes from crap other than the Mac.



Their phone growth over the last few years has been an impressive feat by any measure, but that's not exactly the same as overthrowing Windows. The MS version of the phone is coming out and everyone (including Mac fan boys) are shocked at how good it is.

No, I'm not looking for a Mac vs. PC flamewar here. I am PC at the moment for everything, but more than once I have considered going Mac/Logic for music, hoping that things like integration with the Virus would be easier. At any given price point it has been difficult because of the importance of the raw CPU power to my dependency on softsynths and FX. I keep telling myself if Mac gets a certain % of overall computing marketshare I will take the plunge.

But this graph sends me running in the other direction. Apple cannot survive on phones and iPods alone... the smartphone market is simply too easy to enter (i.e. no barriers for competition like Windows has).

I dunno.. Well at least Linux on the desktop is dead and out of the picture at this point.. Gives us only two choices to focus on.
