Why there's some presets that cracks and pops? [SOLVED]
 

Hi there,

I have a virus rack XL, wich is a virus C, so, both owners can help me with this one.

Going thru all the presets i've noticed that there are some that sounds weird, and it's not the preset itself, it's some kind of digital drop, error or distortion. It cracks and pops.

For example, there's this preset called 7th heaven (a pad), and this other called Choir 4 BC, wich start cracking and popping as soon as i start playing the notes.

I noticed that in the pads the cracks and pops starts when the filters start opening, and in the other presets the cracks and pops happens in the attack portion of the timbre, as soon as i hit a key there's a crack.

Anyone have experienced this? i tried rebooting the unit and it worked for some presets, but for others it's not working.

hey, i think i found out why i was having those clicks and pops.

The first thing that came to my mind was digital distortion over 0Db, and it turns out it was it. But the digital distortion happens inside the unit, before going out to my soundcard.

I haven't noticed cause the meter levels of my sound card wasn't red.

I turned down the patch level and the clicks and pops vanished. At least the ones related to volume. i couldn't ged rid off of the cracks that happens when i press more than 2 or 3 keys in a pad preset.

If i play one note at a time i don't have cracks, if i play more the one note i have cracks. I think im gonna have to live with it.
