Using The Virus TI Desktop With Cubase 6.

Hello all.

I'm using my TI Desktop with Cubase 6, everything works great, but when I use the Virus Control interface I obviously get just the 3 USB channel strips in the Cubase mixer. If I want to use any more patches than the maximum 3 usb from the Virus control, what other mixer channels can I use in the Cubase mixer strip to eq etc? There isn't any! If I use a 4th patch in the Virus Control on midi channel 4 for eg, the signal gets routed through one of the previous 3 USB mixer channels, and doesn't create a separate mixer channel. A little annoying this!

Can anyone enlighten? Or am i missing something?

Thanks.

There are only 3 usb audio busses available on Virus Control (like the 3 stereo output pairs on the back of any Virus), thats because USB bandwidth cannot handle more stereo busses. You can route the 16 channels through any of these 3 busses.

This has been covered many times over the years.

option 1 use all 3 usbs but instead of stereo, use 6 mono so
1=1L, 2=1R,3=2L,4=2R,5=3L,6=6R AND route into your daw host as mono channel strips, or use stereo and use a mono-stereo insert.

OR

use the external audio outs again in a similar vain. and use the Spdif if you can for another out of course this means you will require an external mixer.

Bear in mind that when recording the external audios are preferantial as better sound quality!!!

A lot of people produce in usb and record using the audio outs.

Hope this helps little.

Yes many thanks, i'll have a look at this, and I bet it has been covered many times this one, and I also bet there's thousands still looking for an answer to it, and so will continue to post the question.

Cheers.
