lol...now guys..
Personally I think of trance as a genre in itself, and that true musical genres never really go out of style per se. What I do see happening in electronic music is that the spotlight tends to shift onto newer forms when they emerge (side effect of mixing technology with music I guess?), such that when someone talented comes up with something new, it tends to get imitated to a very rapid peak of exhaustion. Trance is a genre that was successful, and the amount of bad music that results from the above mentioned imitation with a successful genre can really wear out the genre's welcome.
I always could and probably always will be able to tell the difference between good and bad trance. The really good stuff only makes up a small percent of what's out there, but luckily as other genres have gained popularity, the spotlight has shifted from trance, letting some of the other genres get their share of horrible sounding music :)
Personally I've gotten to the point where I cringe anytime I hear auto-tuned vocals in any song, but that's just me.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing really good trance, though. I could say the same about a lot of music genres that are no longer the latest style though.
