Ti Desktop starts with white display

OK so I bought a Virus TI as defective VERY cheap, to fix it yourself
The previous owner wrote following on the official Virus forum.

"Just tried starting my Ti Desktop after it's been in (climate-controlled) storage for 4 years and it starts with a white display. It does seem to work partly because the leds change when I press the program button so it looks like it changes program but I can't get any sound out of it.

I searched the forum and found this thread Can't start/update my virus TI Desktop and tried the suggestions there but no luck.
The Virus control center has no problem communicating with the device and reports it as having the latest OS."

Any ideas? I want this baby up running :)

can you load the vsti into your DAW ?

No expert here.

Couple of questions:

if you're indeed able to access the "Virus Control" plug-in, try to send the audio through the usb connection and see if it works.

then do it with the analogue audio outs (there could be a problem with the converters, maybe).

weird thing with the screen, it's meant to be coloured blue, right? (could be damaged to)...

I figure that the circuit must be ok, so if you picked one cheap and only need to change the converters and the lcd screen, it's not that complicated and expensive tho. Can't really say much more on this matter, Good Luck with it! ;)

I have tried the above and there is not coming any sound at any point on any output, more than a low static digital noise.

Yes the vsti opens in daw and sending midi as it should.

is there sound from the vsti in the DAW?
You might have a problem power supply.

No expert here. Have you tried showing it to a music shop that does some kind of repairing? They can at least point you the right direction. Some parts are easy enough to find, and rather cheap, and there's some knowing folks around on this forum (Timo always comes to mind) that can help. Otherwise, send it to Access to sort it out! If you got it cheap, you won't regret putting some extra cash to get it working fully!
