Virus C sound cuts out
Hey everybody,
Just got my first synth - a used Virus C! Really been digging the sounds from it. Just one question - I have a supersaw patch I made that I've been sending pretty large chords to (6-7 notes) and after about 5-10 minutes of playing the pattern the sound will just go. Not sure where. When I power off/on the synth it comes back perfectly fine and works. Am I using too many voices/overloading? Or is it some kind of bug? What does the Virus do when there are too many voices playing? I'm pretty new to all this so just trying to figure out what I can. I also noticed there's an OS update to 6.5 and mine is at 5.5 if that could have anything to do with it. Thanks for any help you can lend, Matt |
Hi Matt,
Could be an old bug for that version. Unsure, as I've never used a C. Updating to 6.5 could potentially fix any previous bugs, and will give you several new features, not least of which the super Moogy analogue filters, so I'd definitely recommend updating. Make a backup of your sounds before doing so, just in case they are affected by carrying out the update. |
@Timo thanks for the input! I've never updated before, any helpful links to show how?

Hi, firstly I would make a backup of all your patches beforehand, just in case. (I use SoundDiver for doing this).
Then, for info on how to update: http://www.infekted.org/virus/showthread.php?t=29117 The Virus C OS v6.5 itself can be got here: http://www.infekted.org/virus/files/...50x352_INT.zip Make sure you also read the OS650_readme.htm file in the above OS zip file. Any problems or queries, let us know. |
Cheers man, thanks alot!
