virus indigo - long shot

Hi all,

I'm having problems with my indigo.
The 5v flash memory has a 12v feed to them.
I've actually traced it back to this one resistor. Which I believe to be 2ohm 10%.

Theirs 4 on the board. which all read the same resistance. so unless they're all gone, there must be all ok.

My camera usb lead isn't working for some reason, so I've stolen a picture

from another post (timo's) :) lol ermm...

Basically this resistor I'm getting 12v in and 12v out.

Can anyone help on telling me if there should be 12v in and 12v out?

I'm almost there with fixing this and I'm falling at the last hurdle :(
Tried asking for a service manual from access and they said they don't give them out....makes one wonder if they have them to give out :-P

EE here... there should be a measurable voltage drop across the resistor

Hi, I know I'm getting 12.4 in and 12.4 out.

it's 2ohm's 10%. 2ohm isn't much?..there is resistance going through it.

I thought when resistors went, they go like fuses?

To be honest, I can't find any online. otherwise I would have already bought them by now.
Theres a maplins (shop) I need to try and get too, it's just hard with working every hour in the world :( lol

My suspicions were right, 2ohm's is basically a fuse.

Turns out if anyone's interested..
That resistor should be 12v out. What my problem was the 5 pin transistor you can see in that same picture slightly higher was faulty. shorting out through the pins.

So....now turns out I have bad cap problems too, but at least I'm back to the correct voltage.

Fun and games, I could almost write a service manual one this now.
Funny saying as how they won't give them out.
