LFO to pitch...
Hi !
I'm new on this forum but I'm a virus user since 13 or 14 years. I've got a TI 2 desktop. I'd like to modulate the pitch of the oscillator 3 with an LFO. But this modulation must be just 1/2 ton. If I set just the value 1 in the LFO 1 to osc 3 pitch, it modulates 1 ton. Same if I do that in the mod matrix with bi or unipolar LFO 1. Any idea to modulate pitch osc with an LFO but not more than 1/2 ton ? Many thanks. |
Hi, welcome.
By 1/2 ton, you mean 1 semitone? (1/12th of an octave?) 'Pitch' is used for semitones, but if you need something smaller you need to modulate 'Detune'. So Osc3detune, not Osc3pitch. 'Detune' gives you a range of approximately ±50 cents at each extremity. |
Well... After different tests with a tuner at the output :
Modulating by a value of 1 in the mod matrix : LFO to coarse pitch ! no less than +- 1 semitone LFO to detune : no more than half a semitone ! I can never modulate the oscillator just 1 semitone ! :confused: |
You can do it with indirect modulation, e.g.
Slot 1: LFO -> Osc pitch Slot 2: 10% -> Slot 1 amount hope this helps )) |
Good idea ! Gonna try ! Thanks and sorry that I did not come check here earlier !

Hi Calvino,
Haven't visited in a while, just saw your question. "10%" is simply a fixed-value modulation source. I didn't specify the modulation amount - you have to tweak it by ear. |
