Does anyone who uses Logic have a stable setup?

I have a 2010 imac i7 running Snow Leopard and Logic 9.1.5. I'm plagued with problems on my Virus TI2. Sometimes it's not recognized on startup, goes out of sync, plays itself, etc. Does anyone here...

Is there a way to just hear the reverb only from a patch? Like mute the sound but keep the reverb that's coming from it? Wet/dry?

So you can't get all sixteen parts routed to individual channels? I want to process and add effects separately to more than 3 parts sometimes! Seems like a flaw. No workaround?
