You really should dive into your Virus and start synthesizing. There are already basic patches to start with, just learn basic subtractive synthesis, and enjoy the ride.

A good multi-outlet power strip is a good idea to have anyway. Plug everything in to one of those, (some have RFI/EMI filters too), and use the switch on it to power down all your stuff.
