Its surprising, I was asking these exact same questions nearly six months ago
1) Yes you can!
2) The virus takes 500mA 12V DC powersupply, non-inverting. So any power adapter that spits this out (or with more amperage) will power it just fine. Which is what I'm using since I'm in Australia
